Trustee Jim Buchan - Area II

Mr. Jim Buchan represents Trustee Area II, which consists of all of Sutter County except the city of Live Oak, and a small portion of Placer County in the East Nicolaus Joint Union High School District. Mr. Buchan was first elected to a two-year term on the YCCD Board of Trustees in 1998. He was reelected to four-year terms in 2000, 2004, and 2008. His current term expires in 2012.

Mr. Buchan is a retired Yuba College Professor and U.S. Army Reserve Colonel. Since his retirement in 1993, Mr. Buchan has devoted much of his time to participating in Rotary Club of Yuba City projects that improve the lives of children and young adults. Mr. Buchan is also a member of the Fremont-Rideout Foundation Board, President of the Yuba-Sutter YMCA Board of Directors, Chair of the Sutter County Juvenile Justice Commission, and is a member of the Yuba College Foundation Board of Directors.
