Yuba College - Means Business! The Business Division is staffed by 7 full-time professors and 9 to 10 adjunct faculty members each semester. Courses are taught in many different platforms during both the day and evening; Full 18- week semester classes; 9-week half semester classes; 1, 2, and 3 week sessions; weekend classes; online and distance education courses. Classes are offered at the Yuba College campus, the Beale Center, and other community outreach locations as well as our distance education classes which are offered world-wide. The Business Division is constantly striving to offer convenient scheduling for full-time transfer students as well as students who are upgrading their skills while working full-time. An entire management certificate program was designed for the working adult and thus called “Management for Busy People”. It can be completed entirely online within one academic year. We are constantly offering more online classes as the demand grows with each semester. The Business Division offers a wide range of business courses. Accounting courses range from Principles of Accounting to Computerized Accounting and Income Tax Preparation. BCA 15R is a General Education requirement that offers an introduction to the most current version of Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Other Business Computer Applications classes include: BCA 17R (Advanced), and specific courses (both introductory and advanced) that focus on each of the Microsoft Office products individually. Cooperative Work Experience Education offers students an opportunity to earn credits while they work. General Business classes include the basics such as Introduction to Global Business, Business Mathematics, and Business English as well as Business Law. Yuba College has a partnership with Sutter Beauty College to offer students the 1600 hours of training required to take the State of California exam to become a licensed Cosmetologist. The Educational Internship program offers both paid and unpaid internships at several local businesses for students who have completed at least 12 units of coursework at Yuba College. Current job listings are posted in the Counseling/Job Placement area as well as on MonsterTrak.com Information Technology offers training for and discount exam vouchers for certification in CompTIA A+, Network +, Security+, and MCP as well as courses in Internet Literacy and Safety, Identity Theft, and Webpage Management and Design. Our Management and Supervision program reaches a wide variety of students through 3-unit transfer courses such as Introduction to Supervision and Management Psychology to half and one-unit courses in small business planning and management techniques Office Administration offers courses ranging from Keyboarding and Word Processing to Advanced Office Procedures, Legal Office Procedures and Medical Office Procedures. Medical Word Processing is a very popular class for those who plan to become Medical Transcriptionists. We have revitalized our Real Estate program to offer students the training they need in order to take the State of California Real Estate Sales Exam as well as the State of California Brokers Exam.
